Building Complex of our Fire Academy

Right now there are 33 buildings, which are used as followed:

Headquarters: The Headquarters' building is divided in 3 rooms, the Chief and meetings’ office, the Secretary and the Operational Center.

All E.S.E.P.A. stations’ and fire fighting unit’s incidents are administered by the operational center. We use two ways for our members’ agitation: a) through Beeper system and b) through cell phones and an interior alarm for the unit.

Restaurant: We spare the capability of feeding 50 people. The restaurant is fully functional during all training sessions.

Halls of Theory Training:  We have two theory halls, one of which is formed properly so that it can be appropriate for practical training. These two halls are equipped with spotlight and laptop and they spare the possibility of 48 people coincident training.

Playroom: In this specially formed playroom, the trainees have the possibility of spending their free time in many ways since they are able to use the internet, watch television (Greek and satellite channels). Also they can entertain themselves by playing group games such as mini football, board games and darts.

Residency Rooms: There are 12 four-bed rooms. Each one has its own shower and air conditioner. There are four more residency rooms for the officers as well.

WORKSHOPS

Vehicle Workshop: It is fully equipped. In there you may find: screw – cutting machine, attachments’ washers, battery chargers, oil, grease and generally has all the tools for repairing the cars and several constructions.

Breathing Apparatus Workshop:  The necessity for this workshop was born due to urban incidents (houses, cars etc.). Our members have been trained and confirmed in Germany for checking the mask, the breathing apparatus and the filling in the bottles. We have one more workshop and the goal is to create one of this kind in each district with 5 and up stations.

Electro technical Workshop: The machine maintenance and repair is done by us. So in this room we store equipment such as sirens, barleys, radios, flashlights and spotlights.

Pump Workshop: In this workshop pump and fire fighting attachments are repaired.

Wood Workshop: 70% of our buildings are constructed by wood and of course created out of personal work. It is equipped with screw – cutting machine, ribbon and other machines, which are necessary for the buildings’ maintenance and extension.

WAREHOUSES – AUXILIARY ROOMS

Boiler Room: Where the burner, the heating boilers and hot water are located. At the same time we have installed two generators, one for the operational center and one for the restaurant.

General Depot: Here we store fire fighting tools, electrical devices, heavy anti – flaming entrance equipment, tents, tables, camp beds etc.

General Material

Building Material: In here you can find cement, concrete mixer, push carts, paint etc.

Clothing: In this room there is the individual protection gear (firefighting helmets, gloves, uniforms, goggles, masks, army boots etc.) for forest, urban but also for other use.

Laundry Room: Up to 12 washing machines and dryers are offered for the needs of the trainees.
